This demand entails an accelerated expansion of worldwide pomegranate orchards to meet the demand for pomegranate fruit and its derivatives. Experts' forecast is that this new trend will serve as a catalyst for the whole pomegranate industry and as a result will create a demand for advanced technologies associated with this. Thus, it's clear that countries and/or regions which will join early the 'race', will reap higher revenues than those who will join later, provided they adopt and implement the advanced technologies associated with the pomegranate industry.

The pomegranate is well recognized in its countries of origin. However, there are many other countries where the pomegranate is hardly known and as a result it's not widely consumed. Nevertheless, many of these countries have growing conditions compatible with the tree requirements.
